23 years of HS and MS mathematics Teacher The best part of my job is the actual teaching of math. I have a passion for teaching and a love of mathematics that is contagious. When you are a public school teacher - there isn't enough of the 'fun' stuff! By being a tutor - I can focus on the FUN stuff - the teaching and learning of math! I can make math seem like a walk in the park on a sunny afternoon! I have taught in three states in 8 different schools. Why you say? I had the pleasure of accompanying but husband around the country while he served in the US Navy. In all the places I have been and all the schools, my favorite part of the day has been tutoring time. I love when the kids come in and we practice practice practice ~ after all - PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. Recently I had a former student post this on facebook about me: Isabel with Prissy Metting December 16 at 6:46pm · So today I was up at TCC working on application stuff and at the last minute I had to take a TSI math test. I was a tad nervous seeing as I haven't even used my Handy Dandy Trusty Nifty Calculator in about 6 months, but I took a leap of faith and started the test. As I worked through it crazy things kept popping into my head like "Up and Over!" "Plug and Chug!" "Everybody gets the windsock!" "Marriage makes two seem like one!" "Call yo MAMA!" and lo and behold....I totally "beat up that test as if it was nothing" (as my dad put it). So all in all this is just further proof that Mrs. Prissy is the best math teacher in the history of ever. So thanks for helping me today, Mrs. P! You rock.
